Singapore, India to expand air services

SINGAPORE: A new agreement expanding air services between India and Singapore was praised on Thursday as "timely and much- needed" by the city-state's transport ministry.

Under the pact, carriers from both countries will be able to start or expand flights between Singapore and the Indian cities of Calcutta, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The two delegations concluded the round of air services consultations on Wednesday and Thursday in New Delhi.
