Singapore Foreign Minister visits North Korea to enhance bilateral relations
Tokyo (ANTARA) - Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan held talks with his North Korean counterpart Choe Son Hui in Pyongyang to strengthen bilateral relations. North Korean state media reported on Wednesday that Balakrishnan arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday (26 May). During the meeting, the foreign ministers of North Korea and Singapore exchanged views on developing relations through various means of exchange and cooperation, as well as regional and international issues, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). Subsequently, Foreign Minister Balakrishnan is scheduled to visit South Korea (ROK) to hold talks with ROK Foreign Minister Cho Hyun on Thursday (28 May). Prior to his visit to Pyongyang on Monday (25 May), Balakrishnan also met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.
