Singapore Court Rejects Paulus Tannos' Appeal, KPK: Extradition to Proceed Immediately
Following the recent court ruling, the KPK hopes that the extradition process for Paulus Tannos can be completed promptly so that he can be brought to Indonesia to face legal proceedings regarding cases currently being handled by the commission, stated KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists on Friday (5/6/2026).
The KPK expressed its appreciation for the Singaporean court’s decision, noting that his presence abroad has hindered the legal process against him. “The KPK welcomes the decision of the Singapore High Court in rejecting the application of suspect Paulus Tannos. This decision represents a significant development in cross-jurisdictional law enforcement efforts and further clears the path for the acceleration of the ongoing extradition process,” he said.
In the subsequent legal stages, the KPK will coordinate with several Ministries of Law and relevant law enforcement agencies to facilitate the extradition process. “Synergy between authorities is a crucial factor in ensuring that the extradition process can run smoothly, effectively, and in accordance with applicable legal mechanisms,” he added.
Previously, the Singaporean court rejected the application for the suspension of detention for fugitive Paulus Tannos. Consequently, Tannos will undergo extradition proceedings in Singapore. The extradition hearing has been ongoing since 23 June 2025, held at the State Court, 1st Havelock Square, Singapore.
Paulus Tannos is a suspect in the e-KTP corruption case and has been a fugitive sought by the KPK since 2021. He was arrested in Singapore in January 2025 by Singaporean authorities following a request from the Indonesian government.
