Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Singapore Airlines (SIA) is extending the period of flight cancellations to Dubai. Initially, the cancellations were for flights until the end of March 2026, but they are now extended until 30 April 2026.

The management stated that the reason for extending the cancellation period is the continuing war in the Middle East.

“Customers affected by the flight cancellations will be redirected to alternative flights or can request a full refund for the unused portion of their tickets,” said the national carrier of Singapore, as reported by CNA on Monday (23/3/2026).

Customers who book directly with the airline coded SIA can request refunds online.

“For bookings made through travel agents or partner airlines, customers are advised to contact the travel agent or airline where they purchased the ticket directly for assistance.”

Singapore Airlines has been cancelling flights to Dubai since the Middle East war broke out on 28 February, when the US and Israel attacked Iran.

In addition to that airline, tens of thousands of other flights worldwide have been cancelled since the war broke out.

The conflict has also forced airlines to avoid airspace around Iran and other conflict-prone zones, resulting in much longer flight paths, increased fuel consumption, and higher operational costs.

Some airspace in the Middle East remains highly restricted, with reduced flight schedules.
