SINERGI 2026 Cyber University Introduces Campus Life and Career Paths to New Students
Entering the world of higher education is not merely about familiarising oneself with classrooms and lecture systems. New students also need to understand the campus environment, recognise opportunities for self-development, and gain an overview of the professional world they will face after graduation. This was the driving spirit behind the SINERly (Seminar Energi Kreasi) 2026 event, held in person by Universitas Siber Indonesia, better known as Cyber University, at the Cyber University Campus Hall, South Jakarta, on Saturday (19/9/2026).
Carrying the theme “The Future Starts Here”, SINERGI 2026 formed part of the Academic Orientation period for Cyber University’s new students. The activity was designed to introduce the academic environment while broadening students’ horizons regarding the importance of innovation, collaboration, professional skills, and leadership amidst the evolving digital ecosystem.
“I can see great enthusiasm from the new students, which was palpable since the start of the activities at 08:30 WIB. Following the opening, participants immediately engaged in various agendas combining academic insights, professional experiences, introductions to student organisations, and activities that encourage interaction between students,” said the Rector of Cyber University, Gunawan Witjaksono, PhD.
He explained that one of the agendas that captured the students’ attention was the Successful Alumni Talkshow. This session featured six Cyber University alumni currently pursuing careers in various fields, particularly in banking, technology, human resources, and management.
“The six alumni included Rizky Ramadan, HRD Coordinator at PT Mega Putra Pamulang; Salwa Nur Hafizah, Digital Transformation Lead at PT Novell; and Chalvina Izumi Amalia, IT Business Analyst at PT Bank Syariah Indonesia. Also present were Christina Ajeng Permatasari, IT Help Desk at PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia; Vilosa Auliya Dewinta Sentanu, Process & Performance Monitoring Staff at PT BCA Finance; and Suadi Mariyo, Branch Manager at PT Bank Raya,” noted Gunawan.
According to him, the presence of these alumni provided new students with the opportunity to view the professional world through the experiences of those who had previously been in their position. Various experiences, challenges, and career opportunities in the digital industry were discussed, including a Q&A session where participants explored tips for navigating the professional world.
“For new students, this meeting serves as a reminder that the journey towards the professional world does not begin after graduation. Competence, experience, networking, and adaptability can all begin to be built during their university studies,” he continued.
Gunawan explained that after gaining an overview of the industrial world, new students were invited to learn more about the student life at Cyber University. The activities continued with presentations from Student Organisations (Ormawa) and demonstrations from the Cyber University Student Executive Board (BEM).
“This session provided a space for students to see the various activities they can participate in during their studies. Involvement in organisations is also a way to develop communication, teamwork, leadership, and collaborative skills,” he stated.
He added that after the hall sessions, new students were directed to visit Student Organisation posts managed by mentors. There, students could interact and discuss various organisations and student activities available at Cyber University as part of their journey to becoming ‘Shaping Future Digital Leaders’.
“In the afternoon session, the series of activities continued with a Workshop by DICO. The workshop material was aimed at providing additional preparation to encourage students to think critically, creatively, and adaptively. The atmosphere was then lightened through interactive games, the screening of Medinfo content, and sharing sessions with accompanying mentors. These activities provided new students with the opportunity to interact and build rapport with the campus environment and their fellow students,” explained Gunawan.
As evening approached, SINERGI 2026 concluded with a series of events symbolising a new journey for Cyber University students. A closing assembly led by the Security Division was followed by the ceremonial pinning of the university blazer (almamater) by the Rector.
The pinning of the blazer symbolised the new students joining the large academic family of Cyber University as ‘Shaping Future Digital Leaders’. The event concluded with a smoke bomb formation celebration on the campus field.
Gunawan expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in the implementation of SINERGI 2026. He noted that academic orientation should be designed not merely as a ceremonial agenda, but as an initial stage for building a student’s mindset.
“We at Cyber University designed SINERGI not just as a formal campus orientation. It is a catalyst, a starting point for students to truly realise that the future begins here, in this room, and at this very second. The message ‘The Future Starts Here’ is not just a decorative theme, but a manifestation of our firm commitment to nurturing a young generation that is tech-savvy and ready to lead,” he said.
He emphasised that new students must utilise their university years to build competencies and experiences relevant to industry needs.
“Through a harmonious synergy between a strong academic curriculum, the transfer of knowledge and direct experience from successful alumni, and the provision of adaptive skills through various practitioner workshops, we are very optimistic. We are confident that Cyber University’s new students possess sufficient foundational tools to transform into digital leaders.”
