Sinar Mas Land has recently held the topping-off ceremony for the Medical Suites in the International Education, Technology, and Health Special Economic Zone (KEK ETKI) Banten, or D-HUB Special Economic Zone (SEZ), in BSD City. The international-standard healthcare facility for medical services, research, and education has now entered its final stage, marked by the topping-off ceremony on Friday (10/4).

Acting Secretary General of the National Special Economic Zone Council, Rizal Edwin Manansang, commended all parties involved in developing the KEK ETKI Banten through PT Surya Inter Wisesa (Development and Management Business Entity/BUPP) as part of Sinar Mas Land for successfully realising the Medical Suites construction. Since officially commencing operations in November 2025, the SEZ recorded Rp1.19 trillion in investment realisation by December 2025, absorbing 836 workers and involving 14 business actors.

“Today’s topping-off of the Medical Suites is an important milestone in the development of KEK ETKI Banten, not only marking the completion of the building structure but also demonstrating tangible progress in developing the ecosystem, particularly in the health sector. In line with these achievements, I invite all stakeholders to continue accelerating the development of KEK ETKI Banten to provide real impacts on the national economy, especially in delivering international-standard healthcare services that can improve domestic service quality and stem the outflow of foreign exchange,” Edwin stated in an official remark on Monday (13/4/2026).

Meanwhile, CEO of Commercial BSD at Sinar Mas Land, Anna Budiman, expressed pride that the Medical Suites has reached the topping-off stage as an indicator of the main structure’s completion. Following the successful development of the Biomedical Campus (BMC) project, the Medical Suites is designed as a living ecosystem integrating medical services, education, and innovation.

“We hope its presence will drive improvements in Indonesia’s healthcare service quality towards international standards, while becoming a new competitive benchmark at the regional and global levels. This development is also expected to attract collaborations with international partners and strengthen Indonesia’s position as a quality healthcare destination. The Medical Suites is targeted to start operating in the fourth quarter of 2026,” Anna stated.

The topping-off ceremony was conducted with the planting of a golden rivet and the pouring of cement with a golden trowel on the top floor of the Medical Suites construction by Acting Secretary General of the National Special Economic Zone Council, Rizal Edwin Manansang, Deputy Group CEO of Township Development at Sinar Mas Land, Monik William, Deputy Group CEO of Strategic Development & Assets at Sinar Mas Land, Herry Hendarta, CEO of Commercial BSD at Sinar Mas Land, Anna Budiman, and CEO of Asset Management at Sinar Mas Land, Teky Mailoa. The building is equipped with optimal natural ventilation systems, full genset backup power to ensure service continuity, and high dead-load capacity to support high-tech medical equipment. With these specifications, the Medical Suites can accommodate diverse healthcare providers, research activities, and medical innovation development reliably and to international standards.

Located in D-HUB SEZ BSD City, the Medical Suites provides various investment facilitations for local and global investors to develop businesses in the health sector. These incentives include exemptions from corporate income tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), Luxury Goods Sales Tax (PPnBM), and import duties, as well as eased practice permits for foreign medical personnel, import flexibility for equipment and medicines, and leniency in hospital and clinic classifications.
