Sinar Mas Land to Host UMKM 2026 Workshop to Strengthen UMKM Competitiveness in BSD City
Micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) remain the backbone of the national economy. In the face of rapid digital transformation and increasingly dynamic business challenges, enhancing UMKM operators’ capacity in financial management and technology adoption is crucial to sustaining competitiveness.
To demonstrate its commitment to sustainable UMKM development, Sinar Mas Land presented the UMKM Workshop 2026 titled ‘Strategi UMKM Modern: Cerdas Financial & Promosi Berbasis AI’ (Smart Financial & AI-based Promotion).
This event is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme organised through the SML UMKM Centre at Auditorium Green Office Park 9, BSD City, Kabupaten Tangerang, on Wednesday 20 May 2026.
In the workshop, speakers and experts in the UMKM field included Dra. Endang Retno Wardhani (Business Management, Productivity and HR Mentor and Youthpreneur Mentor at SML UMKM Centre) and Tuhu Nugraha (Principal at Indonesia Applied Digital Economy & Regulatory Network (IADERN)).
The event was attended by 300 participants comprising UMKM nurtured by the SML UMKM Centre, disability UMKM communities, students in the Youthpreneur programme, and various units under Sinar Mas’s business pillars.
The workshop also received support from a number of stakeholders, including local government, cooperative offices, industry and trade offices, and partner UMKM communities in Tangerang Regency and South Tangerang City.

Through UMKM Workshop 2026, Sinar Mas Land aims to strengthen the capacity of business actors to face modern business challenges through enhanced financial literacy, expanded access to financing, and the optimisation of AI-based digital technology. This aligns with the transformation the company is also applying to product and service development; we see AI is no longer just a trend, but a real solution to improve efficiency, widen market reach, and create new business opportunities. We hope UMKM actors can adopt AI technology adaptively to increase competitiveness and develop businesses more innovatively and sustainably,” said Dony Martadisata, Managing Director, President Office of Sinar Mas Land.
UMKM Workshop is a regular programme hosted by Sinar Mas Land as part of efforts to strengthen UMKM capacity so they are increasingly adaptive to technological developments, maintain healthy financial management, and boost competitiveness in the digital era.
Participants gained a range of educational and practical materials, from financial management of the business through the ‘Cerdas Financial’ session, AI-based digital promotion strategies, and access to financing information from various financial institutions.
Also a platform to socialise the UMKM Training Programme Batch 6 and Youthpreneur Batch 2 initiated by Sinar Mas Land to foster new entrepreneurs who are creative and competitive.
UMKM Workshop 2026 featured interactive discussion sessions with financing and banking partners, including Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Syariah Indonesia, Pegadaian, and Sumber Rizki.
Participants received information on access to finance, business financing products, and opportunities for business development that can be utilised to support growth of the incubated UMKM.
