Sinar Mas Land Holds Affordable Cooking Oil Bazaar for 7,500 Beneficiaries in Banten and Bogor
In efforts to assist residents in meeting basic needs during the holy month of Ramadan, Sinar Mas Land organised a cooking oil bazaar offering affordable prices to the public. The activity was conducted through collaboration with the Banten Provincial Government, Tangerang Regency Government, South Tangerang City Government, and Bogor City Government. The cooking oil bazaar was held at multiple locations, including Al-Bantani Mosque (Serang City), Pondok Aren District Office (South Tangerang City), Tangerang Regency Government Office, Cibubur Wisata City, and Rancamaya Bogor. A total of 15,000 litres of Filma brand cooking oil were distributed to 7,500 beneficiaries comprising local residents and Sinar Mas Land partner communities.
This activity represents the company’s commitment to supporting food availability and alleviating the burden on communities amid increased household needs during Ramadan, particularly around Sinar Mas Land’s development projects. In the bazaar, cooking oil was sold at IDR 15,000 per litre, significantly lower than market prices for premium cooking oil. Each beneficiary could purchase a maximum of two litres to ensure equitable distribution among the community.
Banten Governor Andra Soni stated: “During Ramadan, demand for various basic necessities typically increases. Therefore, Ramadan bazaars represent a strategic approach to maintain balance between supply and demand whilst helping communities obtain essentials at more affordable prices. This activity demonstrates collaboration between government, state-owned enterprises, regional-owned enterprises, businesses, and micro, small and medium enterprises to maintain price stability and ensure communities can fulfil their needs ahead of Eid celebrations with greater peace of mind.”
Tangerang Regent Mochamad Maesyal Rasyid added: “This Cooking Oil Bazaar is held to help ease the burden on communities and strengthen their purchasing power by providing various staples and prices significantly lower than market rates. Beneficiaries comprise residents living around the Tangerang Regency Government office. Beyond cooking oil, this activity also provides food packages, chicken, and beef at more affordable prices. Ramadan is a month of mercy, forgiveness, and blessings. Let us observe this holy month with joy whilst enhancing our care and service to the community.”
Sinar Mas Land Managing Director President Office Dony Martadisata added: “The holy month of Ramadan is an opportune moment to share and help one another. We recognise that household needs tend to increase during Ramadan. Through this cooking oil bazaar, we hope to alleviate the burden on communities whilst strengthening positive relations between the company and surrounding residents.”
The Cooking Oil Bazaar forms part of Sinar Mas Land’s sustained initiative in supporting community welfare through various social programmes aligned with community needs at the local level. On the same occasion, Sinar Mas Land, through the Muslim Sinar Mas Land Foundation, also distributed endowments of 300 Quranic volumes to mosques and prayer rooms in the Rancamaya area. Moving forward, Sinar Mas Land will continue to present various social programmes delivering tangible benefits to communities around the company’s operational areas.
