The Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation (YMSM), in partnership with the Central Board of the Ittihad Persaudaraan Imam Masjid and the Istiqlal Mosque Management Body, held a Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran for mosque imams across Banten Province at the Baitul Mukhtar Grand Mosque in BSD City, South Tangerang. This initiative aims to promote the pure dissemination of the Quran’s content and meaning through the propagation of rahmatan lil alamin, encompassing goodness, peace, and safety. YMSM Chairman Saleh Husin stated that the activity is a collective effort to remind one another to always be guided by the pure values contained in the Quran in every step and aspect of life. He added that the decision to involve mosque imams was based on their strategic role as the front line in spreading a pure, compassionate, and tolerant Islamic message that is also contextual to current situations and dynamics. Saleh viewed the competition as a symbol of a shared commitment to building a harmonious and inclusive faith ecosystem based on the spirit of togetherness and brotherhood. He expressed hope that such initiatives would not only help strengthen religious literacy and preserve Quranic values but also serve as a means of fostering fellowship among believers. Saleh advised the participating contingents to view the event not merely as a competition but also as an opportunity to build relationships and networks for the beautiful propagation of Islam. Saleh attended the event alongside other YMSM administrators, including Condro Kirono, Burhanudin Amin, Suwandi, and Panji Himawan, as well as the management and leadership of Sinar Mas Land, to accompany Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar and Banten Governor Andra Soni. YMSM, under the Sinar Mas group, serves as an internal platform for Islamic practice that is open, tolerant, egalitarian, and compassionate, while externally it builds cooperation with individuals and institutions sharing similar intentions. The opening ceremony was followed by Friday prayers with approximately five thousand congregants, with the sermon delivered by Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar.
