Sinar Mas Endows Qur'ans for Al-Nahdlah Islamic Boarding School
The Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation (YMSM) has endowed Qur’ans to the Al-Nahdlah Islamic Boarding School in Depok, West Java. The endowment aims to encourage the students to deepen their faith through reading the Qur’an.
‘May what we have endow ed contribute to the formation of the faith of the male and female students here. Especially in the Ramadan month, which we know as the month of the Qur’an,’ said the Chairman of YMSM, Saleh Husin, in a statement on Sunday (8 March 2026).
He added that during Ramadan there is taradus? The community engages in tadarus, reflecting on and practicing what is contained in the Qur’an, intensively.
In a symbolic handover of 1,000 Qur’ans to the caretaker of Al-Nahdlah Boarding School, KH M Asrorun Ni’am Sholeh in Depok, West Java, were present also a Member of the YMSM Board of Patrons, Burhanudin Amin, and a Member of the Supervisory Board, Suwandi.
According to Burhanudin, the foundation prays that the students, especially at this halfway point of Ramadan, remain enthusiastic in pursuing knowledge. ‘Alongside continuing with tadarus and successfully observing the fast,’ he said.
YMSM within the Sinar Mas group presents itself as a platform for open, tolerant, equal, and compassionate practice of Islam, while externally the foundation engages in dialogue with individuals or institutions with similar intentions.
Since 2008, with support from the APP Group, around 1.4 million Qur’ans have been distributed, through Sinar Mas’ business pillars across various regions, reaching religious institutions, educational institutions, communities, and even the TNI-Polri units in various areas, including the outermost reaches of the Nusantara region.
