Sinar Mas, through the Muslim Foundation of Sinar Mas (YMSM), has once again distributed Qur’ans to two state institutions: the Special Forces Command (Kopassus) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu). The distribution of these Qur’ans is intended to strengthen spiritual values within both institutions.

The symbolic handover ceremony took place on Friday, 13 March 2026, at Kopassus Headquarters in Cijantung. YMSM distributed 600 Qur’ans along with additional support comprising 3,000 litres of cooking oil to meet increased needs during Ramadan.

The handover was conducted by Widyo Pramono and Suwandi, members of YMSM’s Board of Supervisors, and received directly by Kopassus Commander, Lieutenant General Djon Afriandi of the Indonesian Armed Forces.

Simultaneously, a donation of 1,000 Qur’ans and an additional 2,000 litres of cooking oil was also distributed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The symbolic handover was conducted by Ahmad Rusdi and Mayerfas, YMSM’s internal VIPs, and received directly by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Armanatha Nasir at his office.

In a separate statement, YMSM General Chairman Saleh Husin said that Qur’an waqf (endowment) represents the foundation’s commitment to supporting improvements in the quality of public faith. Through this initiative, he hopes that the universal values contained in the Qur’an will continue to inspire efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s diplomatic role, which upholds peace and humanity.

“We hope the Qur’ans donated can be utilised optimally, both for Qur’an recitation activities and for deepening the values contained within them, so that they can provide inspiration in carrying out duties and service to the nation,” he said.

Saleh stated that YMSM, as a forum for Islamic practice within Sinar Mas, continues to prioritise values of openness, tolerance, equality, and compassion. In addition to conducting internal activities, the foundation also builds communication with various leaders and institutions that share similar objectives.

Since 2008, with support from APP Group, the Qur’an waqf programme has distributed approximately 1.4 million Qur’ans to various regions across Indonesia. Distribution has been carried out through Sinar Mas business units spread across various areas to reach religious institutions, educational institutions, community groups, and military and police units across various regions, including Indonesia’s outermost territories.
