Simultaneous Village Head Elections in Tabanan to Be Held in 2027, First Wave Involving 97 Villages
A total of 133 villages from 10 sub-districts in Tabanan Regency will hold simultaneous Village Head Elections (Pilkel) in 2027. These simultaneous village head elections will be conducted in three waves.
Acting Head of the Community and Village Empowerment Agency (DPMD) of Tabanan, I Putu Yudasuara, revealed that the first wave of Pilkel will involve 97 villages in Tabanan. The second wave will take place in 14 villages, and the third wave in 22 villages.
“The implementation will begin in June 2027 simultaneously. Meanwhile, the inaugurations must be carried out by December 2027,” Yudasuara stated when confirmed by detikBali on Tuesday (14/4/2026).
Yudasuara explained that the elections will not be held simultaneously in all 133 villages as per central regulations, which require a phased approach. According to him, socialisation regarding the 2027 Pilkel implementation will soon be conducted.
“We have received the technical regulations from the centre and just need to socialise them. Essentially, the letter states that Pilkel can already be carried out,” he emphasised.
Yudasuara said the organisation of the 2027 Simultaneous Pilkel is budgeted at Rp 3.2 billion and will be included in the 2026 revised budget plan. This figure is based on several indicators, such as the number of voters and geographical challenges.
Additionally, he stated that the budget will largely be absorbed for establishing polling stations (TPS), honorariums for the Polling Station Organising Groups (KPPS), and procuring ballot papers. “According to the regulations, the maximum number of TPS is 500 from those 133 villages,” he concluded.
