Simultaneous Planting Movement in Kuningan Begins Today

The Simultaneous Planting Movement has commenced in Kuningan Regency. Organised by the Kuningan Regency Food Security and Agriculture Office (Diskatan), the event took place at the Land Optimisation Site (Oplah) within the Mekarsari Farmers Group, Pasawahan, Kuningan, on Friday (3/7/2026).

This activity is part of the 50,000-hectare Simultaneous Planting Movement initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia. The Deputy Regent of Kuningan, Tuti Andriani, emphasised that the simultaneous planting movement is not merely a ceremonial agenda, but a concrete step towards maintaining national food availability.

“Planting is today’s work, but the result is the hope for tomorrow. Every seed we plant is not just a potential rice stalk; within it lies the hope of farming families, the strength of the regional economy, and the future of the nation’s food security,” she stated.

She also presented the achievements of the agricultural sector in Kuningan Regency up to May 2026. According to her, the rice planting area reached 28,344 hectares, with a harvested area of 27,478 hectares and an average productivity of 61.21 quintals per hectare.

“Total production reached 168,197 tonnes,” said Tuti.

She assessed that these achievements demonstrate Kuningan Regency’s significant contribution to supporting national food security amidst the challenges of climate change and weather dynamics. During the event, the Head of the Large Center for Agricultural Management and Leadership Training (BBPMKP), acting as the Person in Charge of the West Java Food Brigade, Sukim Supandi, explained that the Simultaneous Planting Movement in Kuningan Regency marks the 11th implementation within West Java Province.
