Simultaneous Planting Movement in Kuningan Begins Today

The Simultaneous Planting Movement has begun in Kuningan Regency. The movement, organised by the Kuningan Regency Food Security and Agriculture Service (Diskatan), was carried out at the Land Optimisation location (Oplah) in the Mekarsari Farmers Group, Pasawahan Village/District, Kuningan Regency, on Friday (3/7/2026). The activity is part of the 50,000-hectare Simultaneous Planting Movement initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture. Kuningan Deputy Regent Tuti Andriani stressed that the simultaneous planting movement is not merely a ceremonial agenda. Rather, it is a concrete step in maintaining national food availability. “Planting is today’s work, but the result is hope for tomorrow. Every seed we plant is not just a potential rice stalk; within it lies the hopes of farming families, the strength of the regional economy, and the future of the nation’s food security,” she said. She also outlined the achievements of Kuningan Regency’s agricultural sector up to May 2026. According to her, the rice planting area was recorded at 28,344 hectares, the harvest area at 27,478 hectares, and average productivity at 61.21 quintals per hectare. “Total production reached 168,197 tonnes,” Tuti stated. She assessed that these achievements demonstrate Kuningan Regency’s significant contribution to supporting national food security amidst the challenges of climate change and weather dynamics. On the occasion, the Head of the Centre for Agricultural Management and Leadership Training (BBPMKP), who is the Person in Charge of the West Java Province Food Brigade, Sukim Supandi, explained that the Simultaneous Planting Movement in Kuningan Regency is the 11th implementation in West Java Province.
