Simple Birthday Celebration for 37th Anniversary in Paris Highlighted, Cabinet Secretary: I Understand

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Lieutenant Colonel Inf Teddy Indra Wijaya turned 37 years old on 14 April 2026, during a working visit to Paris, France, accompanying the President of the Republic of Indonesia, General (Retired) Prabowo Subianto. There was no grand ceremony to celebrate the birthday of the man familiarly known as Seskab Teddy.

It was just a birthday cake and a small candle that coloured the occasion. The birthday cake and small candle apparently made Teddy smile happily. He expressed gratitude for being able to continue working for Indonesia up to this moment.

“The celebration was simple and took place spontaneously in between the agenda,” said Teddy Indra Wijaya in a press release in Jakarta on Monday (20/4/2026).

According to Teddy, the simple celebration actually left a deep impression on his heart, because there was a small attention amidst the tight schedule and responsibilities that could not be delayed. He also emphasised that his presence in Paris was part of state duties, including the accommodation facilities that had been prepared as part of the official visit series.

Amidst that routine, the small surprise from RI 1 and colleagues became a brief warm break. Not long after, the agenda resumed as usual. Nevertheless, this 2011 Akmil graduate understood that the simple moment of his birthday celebration would certainly become a topic of conversation on social media and no longer a personal event for him.

Regarding the location and cost figures circulating on social media about his birthday, it triggered various public reactions. In response to this, Teddy chose to view it from a broader perspective. “I understand that as a public official, anything related to me will attract attention,” said Teddy.
