REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURAKARTA - The Association of Regional Development Banks (Asbanda) held the National Draw for the Simpeda Savings of Regional Development Banks across Indonesia (BPDSI) Period 2 of Year XXXVI – 2026 in Surakarta. The event, which took place from 16 to 17 April 2026, serves as a momentum for Asbanda in strengthening the role of Regional Development Banks (BPD) as strategic partners to local governments.

The series of activities was also complemented by the National BPDSI Seminar, themed ‘Strengthening the Role of BPD as Strategic Partners to Local Governments through Financing Innovation and Regional Loans’.

Asbanda emphasised that bolstering the financing sector is key to driving the acceleration of development and economic growth in the regions. The event was attended by Managing Directors, Marketing Directors, and various executive officials from BPDs across Indonesia.

The national seminar, held at the Ballroom of Hotel Sunan in Surakarta, became a forum for sharing insights and experiences among stakeholders in the regional banking sector. The seminar was opened with a keynote speech from Central Java Governor Komjen Pol Ahmad Luthfi, who conveyed the importance of collaboration between local governments and BPDs.

BPD Supports Regional Development

In the seminar sessions, the speakers stressed that BPDs play a role in supporting regional development programmes through adaptive and sustainable financing innovations.

This strategic role can be strengthened through financing innovations, particularly in productive and strategic sectors in the regions. Additionally, regional loan schemes are seen as a solution to accelerate the realisation of development programmes that directly impact society.
