SilkAir scraps Padang flights
BANGKOK: Singapore Airlines Ltd.'s regional unit SilkAir said on Monday it scrapped flights to Krabi in Thailand and Padang in Indonesia "following a strategic review of its network operations."
SilkAir will stop flying twice a week to Padang starting Feb. 23 and Krabi on March 1. The two resort locations were affected by the Dec. 26 tsunami.
"Both Thailand and Indonesia will continue to remain a vital part of SilkAir's network," through other airports, the airline said in a statement to the Singapore exchange.
