Silk Air-C.Java deal

JAKARTA (JP): Central Java's tourism office has signed a cooperation agreement with Silk Air, an affiliate of Singapore's flag carrier Singapore Airlines, to promote the province.

A Central Java tourism official, Harsumi, said both parties would benefit from the cooperation because more tourists would come to the province and Silk Air would carry more passengers on its flight to Surakarta's international airport.

Harsumi said the office would first ask Silk Air to promote areas such as Semarang, Surakarta and Magelang, Antara reported.

Silk Air flies to several destinations in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Medan, Lombok, Pekanbaru, Ujung Pandang, Surakarta, Manado and Padang. (jsk)
