Siliwangi University Community Service Team Launches 'Sister's Digital Lab' Training
A community service team from Universitas Siliwangi held training on creating educational content for 47 cadres of the Salimah regional chapter (Pengurus Daerah) in Tasikmalaya City at RM Saung Sambel Hejo on Sunday (19 July).
Through the Sister’s Digital Lab programme, the cadres were trained in content-making skills as part of efforts to strengthen family literacy campaigns via digital media.
Team leader Sri Maryani said the Sister’s Digital Lab programme aims to improve the digital skills of Salimah cadres so that they can produce engaging educational content as a medium for family literacy campaigns in the digital era.
“We see Salimah cadres as having an important role in educating the public, particularly on family literacy. Therefore, through the Sister’s Digital Lab programme, we want Salimah cadres to be able to package family literacy messages in the form of engaging educational content in line with developments in the digital era,” said Sri Maryani on Monday (20 July).
Meanwhile, the head of Salimah’s Tasikmalaya City chapter, Elis Komala, expressed appreciation for the programme, saying it provides tangible benefits to the cadres through improved digital skills. She expressed hope that the activity would lead to continued cooperation in the future.
“The Sister’s Digital Lab programme is truly very beneficial for us. We gained a great deal of new knowledge, especially on producing educational content such as podcast videos and visual design. We hope programmes like this can continue and lead to other forms of cooperation in the future,” she explained.
The cadres received training through three main modules: (1) the Urgency of Educational Media Outreach and Media Ethics, delivered by Angga Yogaswara; (2) Public Speaking for Content Creators and Its Implementation, by Ai Siti Nurjamilah and Melda Herlinda; and (3) Family Literacy, Podcast Management, and Its Tools, by Sri Maryani.
After receiving the material, the cadres practised directly the production of educational content in the form of podcast videos and visual designs themed around family literacy, with intensive guidance from the community service team. The educational content was then uploaded to the social media accounts of Salimah’s Tasikmalaya City chapter as a dissemination medium accessible to the public.
According to Elis, she hopes the Sister’s Digital Lab programme — fully funded by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) of the Directorate General of Research and Technology under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology for the 2026 fiscal year — will become a model programme for other community organisations in efforts to strengthen family literacy campaigns and digital empowerment of the public.
“Our hope is that Sister’s Digital Lab can become a model programme for other community organisations in strengthening family literacy campaigns and digital empowerment. After all, the benefits of this programme can reach a much wider public,” she concluded.
