Sigra, Terios, and Gran Max Receive Refresh at GIIAS 2026, Targeting Family and Commercial Segments
PT Astra Daihatlar Motor utilised the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 to introduce refreshes to its product line. Three models received updates: the New Astra Daihatsu Sigra, the Terios Special Edition, and a new variant of the Gran Max Blind Van 1.5 M/T AC PS. This move is part of Daihatsu’s effort to strengthen its product selection in both the family vehicle and commercial vehicle segments.
The launch of these three models took place at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on Friday (31/07/2026), attended by key executives including Rokky Irvayandi, Marketing Director & Corporate Function Director of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor; Tri Mulyono, Marketing & Customer Relation Division Head of PT Astra International Tbk Daihatsu Sales Operation; and Mark Widjaja, Industrial Design Division Head of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor.
The most significant refresh was applied to the New Astra Daihatsu Sigra, particularly the top-tier 1.2 R variant, available in both manual and automatic transmissions. This seven-passenger Low Cost Green Car (LCGC) now features a sportier appearance, targeting first-time car buyers seeking a more dynamic family vehicle. Exterior changes include two-tone colour options, a black shark fin antenna, red accents on the grille, a new front bumper, new wheel designs, and a rear spoiler. Black accents have also been applied to the exterior mirrors, door handles, and rear door garnish, paired with a contrasting roof colour. Inside, the Sigra features red accents on the dashboard and door trim, along with a new head unit supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The New Sigra 1.2 R is priced between Rp 173.2 million and Rp 195.9 million, depending on the variant and transmission.
In addition to the Sigra, Daihatsu introduced a limited-edition Terios Special Edition, with only 20 units produced. Based on the Terios 1.5 X A/T, this SUV emphasises a rugged character through two-tone paint with a black roof, new side decals, a dark chrome ‘D’ emblem, gloss black wheels, and black door handles and mirror covers. The interior features silver accents on the centre cluster and side air vents, while a premium feel is enhanced by black metallic accents on the bezels and transmission cover, paired with chrome-plated inner door handles. It also includes a rear camera for parking assistance. The Terios Special Edition is priced at Rp 264.35 million.
In the commercial vehicle segment, Daihatsu introduced the Gran Max Blind Van 1.5 M/T AC PS as a more affordable option. This variant uses a 1,500 cc Dual VVT-i engine producing 97 HP and a maximum torque of 134 Nm. To improve comfort, it is now equipped with Electronic Power Steering, intermittent wipers, and 14-inch wheels. The Gran Max Blind Van 1.5 M/T AC PS is priced at Rp 195.1 million.
During GIIAS 2026, Daihatsu is also offering various sales programmes, including trade-ins, administration fee waivers, health and accident insurance, and various prize draws. Rokky Irvayandi stated that the presence of these three models is part of the company’s commitment to providing mobility solutions for various community needs. He noted that Daihatsu hopes these new products will contribute to the growth of the industry and motorisation in Indonesia.
Daihatsu noted that these three models contribute significantly to its Indonesian sales. Since its introduction in 2013, the Daihatsu LCGC line, consisting of the Sigra and Ayla, has sold over 780,000 units. Meanwhile, the Terios has recorded over 360,000 units sold since 2007, and the Gran Max has sold over 950,000 units in the same period. This achievement is supported by an after-sales network comprising 250 outlets, 170 official workshops, over 300 Daihatsu Mobile Service (DMS) fleets, and more than 3,000 spare part shops across over 500 cities and regencies in Indonesia.
