Jakarta – The Head of the Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH), Ahmad Haikal Hasan, has signed a recognition agreement with the Overseas Halal Institution (LHLN), namely Halal Madani Certification & Inspection Services Shenzhen, China. He explained that this cooperation represents a strategic step for his agency in efforts to strengthen the connectivity of Indonesia’s halal product assurance system with the global halal ecosystem. “This recognition agreement serves as an important instrument to strengthen the interconnection of Indonesia’s halal certification system with overseas halal institutions, so that the recognition process can proceed more quickly, measurably, and while still upholding applicable halal standards,” Haikal stated in his remarks on Wednesday, 15 April 2026. He said that this cooperation encompasses recognition of halal certification for food products, consumer goods, storage, packaging, and distribution. According to Haikal, these are important components in the global halal product supply chain. Haikal hopes that this recognition will accelerate cross-border distribution processes, while ensuring that halal standards are maintained. In addition, he emphasised that aspects of packaging, storage, and distribution play a strategic role in supporting the smooth distribution of halal products between countries. “The scope of packaging, storage, and distribution is directly related to the distribution system in the supply chain. Therefore, we are accelerating this recognition agreement process to meet industry needs, while ensuring that the flow of global halal products can proceed more effectively,” Haikal stated. He added that this step is part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global halal ecosystem, while maintaining a balance between the smooth flow of goods and the certainty of halal standards. On the other hand, the Director of Partnerships and Cooperation at BPJPH, Fertiana Santy, added that this cooperation will enhance the readiness of halal certification services in responding to the dynamics and developments of highly competitive industry needs. “Through the signing of this recognition agreement, BPJPH is strengthening its role in ensuring that the global halal product supply chain operates more efficiently, adaptively, and still meets Indonesian halal standards,” Santy said. In agreement, the Chairman of Halal Madani Certification & Inspection Services Shenzhen, Liu Tian Lai, stated that his side continues to enhance service capacity to support the implementation of this cooperation.
