Significant Rainfall Expected Across Multiple Indonesian Regions

Atmospheric dynamics over the coming week will continue to trigger significant rainfall in parts of Indonesia, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

For the period of 12–14 June 2026, weather across Indonesia is generally expected to be dominated by light to heavy rain. Increased moderate rainfall should be anticipated in Aceh, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Jakarta, Central Java, DI Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, Southwest Papua, Central Papua, Papua, and South Papua.

The BMKG Public Meteorology Directorate also stated that heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds could occur, with an early warning level (Siaga) in place for North Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Banten, West Java, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, and Papua Highlands. Strong winds are also forecast for the Bangka Belitung Islands, Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, Bali, South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and South Papua.

For the period of 15–18 June 2026, increased moderate rainfall should be anticipated in Aceh, West Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra, Banten, East Java, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku, Maluku, Southwest Papua, West Papua, Central Papua, and Papua.
