KAI Logistik’s pet transportation service has shown a positive trend during this year’s Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period. A total of 13,435 pets were shipped, highlighting society’s need for safe, comfortable, and reliable logistics services for their beloved animals.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Logistik (Kalog), Adjeng Putri Adhatu, explained yesterday that the peak shipments occurred in the second week of Ramadan, with a volume of 3,689 animals and an average daily shipment of 527 animals.

This figure represents an increase of around 8% compared to the previous regular period. The positive trend continued into the final week of Ramadan, with 3,703 pets shipped, a significant 57% increase from last year’s 2,357 animals.

“In terms of distribution, cities such as Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Bandung, Solo, Surabaya, and Purwokerto are the favourite destinations for pet shipments. Meanwhile, cities like Tulungagung, Blitar, Kediri, Pati, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Malang recorded the highest shipment origins,” Adjeng stated in a press release on Sunday (29/3/2026).

Adjeng added that some of these cities are also known as centres for ornamental fish, one of the types of animals shipped during this period. The increase in shipments not only reflects societal mobility during homecoming but also confirms that pet transportation services have become part of society’s lifestyle ecosystem.

Pets are increasingly positioned as family members, making the need for safe and comfortable transportation services ever more relevant.

“Amid high societal mobility during homecoming, this service also serves as an alternative to boarding options like pet hotels, as it allows pets to remain close to their owners in the destination city. Society now has a more practical and reassuring option to maintain closeness with their pets,” Adjeng explained.

The public can also monitor their pets’ positions during the shipping process via the real-time tracking feature available on the Kalog Trax app, the kailogistik.id website, or the Access by KAI app.

As part of its commitment to providing reliable services, the company ensures all requirements are met, from healthy animals, comfortable cages, sufficient food and water, to extra securing of cages with cable ties.

“This service is operated with a focus on animal welfare principles, from reception and handling to delivery, to ensure every pet receives safe, comfortable treatment in accordance with animal welfare standards,” she emphasised.

Looking ahead, Adjeng projects that the trend in pet transportation services will continue to grow in line with increasing public awareness of animal welfare and the need for more specific logistics services oriented towards customer experience.
