Significant Contribution from Indonesia, Sharp Strengthens Domestic Market Strategy
With its large population, Indonesia has become one of the vital markets for Sharp within the Asia Pacific region. After more than five decades of operating in the country, the Indonesian market is noted for its significant contribution to Sharp’s regional performance.
Andry Adi Utomo, National Sales Senior General Manager of PT Sharp Electronics Indonesia, stated that Indonesia’s position is highly strategic within Sharp’s business network. According to him, Sharp Indonesia’s contribution to global operations is approximately 40%, while its contribution to the Asia Pacific region reaches up to 60%, he said on Wednesday (9/9).
Andry explained that Sharp’s business strength in the country stems not only from product sales but also from the company’s ability to maintain customer relationships. Marketing strategies and service quality are key factors that have allowed Sharp to endure and thrive in Indonesia.
The company also perceives significant room for growth within the domestic market. Shifting consumer needs and technological advancements present opportunities for electronics manufacturers to expand their product penetration.
One such strategy is implemented through the slogan ‘Every Customer Matters’. This programme emphasises the company’s approach to consumers, spanning from the initial purchase process to after-sales service.
Andry noted that this long-term presence serves as capital for Sharp to maintain its position amidst market changes and competition within the electronics industry.
Moving forward, the Japanese-based company intends to continue its consumer-oriented strategy while strengthening services to maintain customer loyalty in Indonesia.
