SIG Strengthens Production and Distribution to Secure Cement Supply in Aceh
State-owned cement and building materials company PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is strengthening its production readiness and distribution network to maintain a smooth cement supply in Aceh amid rising demand and supply pressures.
SIG Operations Director Reni Wulandari said the reinforcement is being carried out through optimisation of production and distribution facilities, coordination with distributors and logistics partners, and regular monitoring of stock availability.
“In addition to optimising production and distribution facilities in the Aceh region, SIG is also strengthening coordination with distributors and logistics partners to ensure distribution runs in an orderly and efficient manner,” Reni said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday.
According to her, the company is also conducting routine monitoring of stock availability and distribution activity, as well as daily evaluations, as a basis for decision-making regarding the fulfilment of cement needs in the region.
The move comes as cement demand in Aceh increases, which is deemed to require a response in the form of stronger coordination across the entire operational and distribution network so that supply to the public and development activities remains secure.
To ensure operational readiness, Reni inspected the facilities of PT Solusi Bangun Andalas in Lhoknga and Lhokseumawe, as well as the packaging plant of PT Semen Padang in Malahayati.
The inspection was carried out together with PT Solusi Bangun Andalas Director Edi Sarwono and PT Semen Padang Operations Director Andria Delfa.
The company said the effort to maintain cement availability in Aceh is linked to reconstruction needs after the region was affected by flooding at the end of 2025.
Besides Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra were also affected by flood disasters during that period.
According to Reni, the company is striving to maintain product availability at various sales points despite facing pressure on fuel availability and prices.
“As a state-owned enterprise, we have a responsibility to contribute to supporting the government’s development agenda, as well as meeting the community’s development needs,” she said.
She said this effort is carried out by maintaining operational reliability and cement supply from operating facilities within the SIG Group network.
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) for Aceh Province recorded that cement sales in Aceh increased by around 30 percent in the first quarter of 2026, in line with post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction activities, including the construction of temporary housing, permanent housing, roads, and bridges. During that period, Aceh’s construction sector grew by 15.95 percent year-on-year.
The large demand for materials is also in line with the scale of Aceh’s recovery. Based on data from the Task Force for the Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR), the disaster at the end of November 2025 damaged 116,767 houses, while the rehabilitation and reconstruction budget for Aceh reaches around Rp58.9 trillion for 2026–2028, including Rp24.21 trillion in 2026.
