SIG Receives Award for K3 Implementation, Records Zero Fatal Accidents in 2025
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has received the Indonesia Best Companies in HSE Implementation 2026 award after recording occupational safety performance with zero fatal accidents throughout 2025. SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni stated that this accomplishment of no fatal accidents is the result of implementing the Safety and Health Management System (SMK3), which incorporates aspects of occupational safety and health (K3) culture within the company environment. “This achievement is the result of the hard work of the entire SIG team in enhancing the K3 culture and serves as motivation to further strengthen SMK3 implementation,” Vita said in her statement from Jakarta on Monday. The award, with an Excellent rating, was given at the Indonesia Best Companies in HSE Implementation 2026 event, which assesses company performance in occupational safety and sustainability. The evaluation was conducted by professionals and academics based on several parameters, including compliance with regulations, strategies, and innovations in implementing health, occupational safety, and the environment, or health, safety, and environment (HSE). SIG recorded that SMK3 implementation not only supports worker safety but also contributes to increased cost efficiency and work productivity throughout 2025. The company also strengthens the safety culture through the Visible Safety Leadership (VSL) programme, which involves direct management engagement in supervising and fostering safety practices in the field. Additionally, SIG has developed the Visible-Felt Safety Leadership (VFSL) approach, which is safety leadership that is not only visible but also felt by workers to enhance awareness and shared responsibility. Occupational safety implementation in the SIG environment is also carried out through several programmes, including strengthening occupational safety rules, training via the Safety Academy, and applying safety management systems for contractors. Vita stated that the occupational safety culture is an important part in supporting the company’s business sustainability. “Safety is a shared responsibility that starts from the individual and is a necessity in every work activity,” she said. SIG states that it will continue to enhance occupational safety implementation to maintain worker protection, the environment, and support company performance and productivity.
