PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has agreed to a business partnership on soil stabilisation with Japanese company Taiheiyo Cement Corporation.

The collaboration represents one solution to address the challenge of varying soil contours in constructing durable structures capable of adapting to natural conditions across Indonesia’s diverse geographic locations. Additionally, the partnership between the two companies aims to create new markets and unlock growth opportunities.

The soil stabilisation business agreement was signed by SIG Chief Executive Officer Indrieffouny Indra; Chief Executive Officer of PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk (SBI) Rizki Kresno Edhie Hambali; Chief Executive Officer of PT Mitra Kiara Indonesia Mirza Whibowo Soenarto; President and Representative Director of Taiheiyo Cement Corporation Yoshifumi Taura; and Chief Executive Officer of PT Taiheiyo International Indonesia Makoto Nakano in January 2026 at Taiheiyo Cement Corporation’s office in Tokyo, Japan.

SIG Chief Executive Officer Indrieffouny Indra stated that the soil stabilisation business partnership represents an expansion of SIG’s existing collaboration with Taiheiyo Cement Corporation, which has been progressing well. This partnership will enhance SIG’s product and business portfolio, further solidifying its position as a leader in Indonesia’s building materials industry.

“SIG understands diverse customer construction needs, including pre-construction preparation to ensure long-term building and road durability. The partnership with Taiheiyo Cement Corporation in soil stabilisation is also a strategic step for SIG’s business expansion to create market opportunities,” said Indrieffouny Indra on 11 March 2026.

Meanwhile, Taiheiyo Cement Corporation President and Representative Director Yoshifumi Taura stated that since establishing strategic partnership with SIG, Taiheiyo Cement Corporation has been committed to developing soil stabilisation business in Indonesia. This field has become one of the important collaboration areas where both companies build shared experience and trust.

“Through this new multi-stakeholder collaboration, we welcome the formation of a stronger cooperation framework to strengthen the sales structure and expand market opportunities. We believe that the synergy of capabilities among the five companies will accelerate the provision of high-quality solutions that contribute to Indonesia’s infrastructure development and sustainable growth,” said Yoshifumi Taura.
