SIG optimises production to keep Aceh cement supply stable
PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is optimising production and distribution through its operational network to ensure cement supply in Aceh remains stable and prices stay under control amid rising public demand.
“We continue to boost cement production and distribution capacity to accelerate supply recovery in Aceh,” said SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni in a confirmed statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
She said the company is also strengthening synergy across its entire operational and distribution network to ensure the public and construction stakeholders have supply certainty.
Cement demand in several areas of Aceh has increased in recent weeks, leading to faster stock absorption at some distribution points, she noted.
In response, the company is continuously adjusting supply to meet public needs through synergy across its operational network. SIG is maximising production capacity at PT Solusi Bangun Andalas in Lhoknga and Lhokseumawe, as well as the PT Semen Padang packing plant in Malahayati.
“As a form of synergy within the SIG Group, PT Semen Padang is also sending additional cement supply to support stock availability in Aceh,” Vita said.
In addition to optimising production and distribution facilities in Aceh, the company is strengthening coordination with distributors and logistics partners to keep distribution orderly and efficient.
The company regularly monitors stock availability and distribution activities, and conducts daily evaluations as a basis for decision-making.
SIG also continues to coordinate with regional governments, distributor networks, and other stakeholders to maintain orderly and efficient distribution.
The company urged all distribution partners to prioritise healthy and responsible distribution practices so that products reach consumers evenly.
“As a cement producer, SIG is not only working to close the supply gap caused by the demand surge, but also not raising prices,” she said.
The controlled cement supply distribution has been welcomed by SIG partner distributors, including PT Wadah Suci.
PT Wadah Suci Head of Operations Emy Rinaldi explained that cement demand in Aceh has risen alongside rapid infrastructure development and home repairs following floods that hit the region.
The demand surge occurred in July 2026. Emy said he is grateful that conditions have gradually become controlled and stable, with cement supply flowing smoothly.
“From mid to late July, demand increased. Trucks queued long at the factory. Alhamdulillah, it is now gradually controlled and stable. Supply arrives smoothly every day,” Emy said.
Similarly, PT Andesmont Sakti General Manager Muhammad Agam Maulana said the increase in cement demand in Aceh began at the start of the year, peaking in July 2026.
“There were some supply constraints before, but alhamdulillah it has now returned to normal, with deliveries every day. The factory has also managed things well, making it more orderly,” Agam said.
Agam added that the arrangements made by PT Solusi Bangun Andalas have kept supply flowing smoothly.
“I see the factory has been very optimal. I am very grateful. Going forward, I hope the company can maintain supply stability so that prices can also remain stable,” Agam said.
