Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) Group has distributed tens of thousands of social assistance packages in eight provinces in the form of basic food staples, aid payments, and operational support to help the community and strengthen care during the momentum of the Ramadan 1447 Hijriah month.

“SIG Group distributed various aid to communities around the company in the provinces of Aceh, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, and South Sulawesi during Ramadan,” said SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.

The aid included 37,933 basic food packages, aid for 1,463 orphans and the underprivileged, aid for 100 people with disabilities, assistance for 60 TPQ teachers, and Eid al-Fitr gifts for 1,258 religious figures, community members, and retired employees.

“Up to operational assistance for a total of 57 orphanages, Islamic boarding schools, as well as mosques/musallas in carrying out Ramadan activities,” she said.

She mentioned that during the Ramadan Safari 1447 Hijriah, SIG (holding) distributed aid in Jakarta and Gresik in the form of 405 basic food packages, aid for 230 orphans and the underprivileged, aid for 100 people with disabilities, holiday allowances for 60 TPQ teachers, and operational assistance for 11 mosques/musallas.

Meanwhile, SIG Tuban Factory distributed aid in the form of 6,656 basic food packages, aid for 803 orphans and the underprivileged, and gifts for 152 religious figures and community members.

SIG subsidiary, PT Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk in South Sumatra, also distributed aid in the form of 2,400 basic food packages, aid for 2 orphanages, consolation gifts for 410 retired employees, and operational assistance for 13 mosques/musallas.

In West Sumatra, PT Semen Padang distributed 2,000 affordable basic food packages, aid for 80 orphans, assistance of 1,000 free iftar meal packages, 50 Ramadan gifts for religious figures and community members, and operational assistance for 10 mosques/musallas.

Meanwhile, PT Semen Gresik in Rembang Regency, Central Java, provided aid in the form of 2,000 basic food packages, aid for 100 orphans and the underprivileged, operational assistance for 9 mosques/musallas, and gifts for 500 religious figures and community members.

In South Sulawesi, PT Semen Tonasa provided aid of 100 basic food packages, aid for 250 orphans, and operational assistance for 12 mosques/musallas.

Meanwhile, PT Solusi Bangun Indonesia Tbk Tuban Factory, Cilacap Factory, Narogong Factory, Lhoknga Factory, Lampung Packing Plant, Jeladri Mine, Pasuruan, and Maloko Mine, Bogor distributed aid in the form of 24,372 basic food packages, as well as 146 gifts in the form of syrup and sarong cloth for the community.

In addition to providing social assistance, SIG also transported 1,653 mudik participants for free from Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Aceh, and West Sumatra to various destinations in Aceh, Banten, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Central Java, East Java, Lampung, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, and East Nusa Tenggara.

The departure of mudik participants was carried out in stages from Friday (13/3) to Wednesday (18/3) using 20 bus units and 1 sea vessel.
