SIG Distributes 292 Sacrificial Animals to Communities Across 19 Provinces
On this Idul Adha 1447 Hijriah, SIG distributed 292 sacrificial animals comprising 186 cows and 106 goats. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) delivered 292 sacrificial animals as a gesture of social responsibility and sharing of blessings during the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Gregorian Idul Adha holiday to communities around the company’s operational areas across 19 provinces. ‘This year, SIG distributed 292 sacrificial animals consisting of 186 cows and 106 goats,’ said SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. She explained that the distribution was carried out in phases from 19 May to 26 May 2026 through mosques, foundations, pesantrens, and local communities near the company’s operational regions. Vita stated that Idul Adha presents an opportunity to reinforce compassion and the spirit of sharing, especially for communities around the company’s operational areas. Through the distribution of sacrificial animals, the company aims to deliver direct benefits to the community and strengthen harmony with stakeholders. To support the local economy, Vita added, SIG purchased the sacrificial animals from local MSMEs in each operational region and ensured all animals underwent health checks for safe consumption. ‘We hope SIG’s presence not only contributes to development but also brings tangible benefits to communities and the surrounding environment,’ she said. Meanwhile, Salamun, the head of Pasucen Village in Gunem District, Rembang Regency, Central Java, praised the company’s sacrificial animal distribution in his area. Salamun said the assistance is provided annually during Idul Adha to distribute to village residents. He noted the company’s presence has had a positive impact on the village’s welfare. Beyond Idul Adha, Salamun added, the company has implemented various programmes for the villagers, including the Civil Society Forum (FMM) for village autonomy, MSME mentoring, and village operational support. ‘Alhamdulillah, SIG always cares for our people; may they continue to benefit the wider community,’ Salamun said. The distribution spans 19 provinces: Aceh (Aceh Besar), Riau (Dumai), West Sumatra (Padang), Lampung (Bandar Lampung and South Lampung), Bengkulu, South Sumatra (Palembang and Ogan Komering Ulu), Jakarta, Banten (Cilegon), West Java (Bogor and Karawang), Central Java (Kendal, Rembang, Blora, Demak, Banyumas, and Cilacap), East Java (Tuban, Gresik, Probolinggo, and Banyuwangi), Bali (Buleleng), West Kalimantan (Mempawah), East Kalimantan (Samarinda), South Sulawesi (Pangkep, Makassar), West Sulawesi (Mamuju), Southeast Sulawesi (Kendari), North Maluku (Tidore Islands), and West Papua (Sorong).
