PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is targeting growth opportunities in the construction and renovation of homes in densely populated residential areas through its MiniMix service, a mini ready-mix concrete solution designed to reach locations with limited road access that cannot be traversed by conventional mixer trucks.

Corporate Secretary of SIG, Vita Mahreyni, stated that the challenges of building in densely populated areas actually open up potential new business opportunities for the company to provide more adaptive and efficient construction solutions. This innovation opens a new market for ready-mix concrete in the retail segment to meet the needs of residential and property development and renovation in urban areas.

“As a major player in the building materials industry, SIG continues to deliver innovative solutions to address increasingly diverse construction needs. Through the MiniMix service, SIG brings high-quality concrete typically used in multi-storey buildings to densely populated areas that were previously difficult for conventional concrete trucks to reach. This solution helps communities build stronger, safer, and higher-quality homes,” said Vita in a statement on Sunday.

Through its business unit PT Solusi Bangun Beton, SIG sees the potential for the ready-mix concrete market to continue growing alongside the expansion of urban buffer zones, demand for new housing, and the increasing trend of renovating and developing existing properties. Consumer trends that increasingly prioritise work efficiency, practicality, and quality assurance are also driving demand for small and medium-scale ready-mix concrete services.

MiniMix is a small concrete delivery truck service operated by PT Solusi Bangun Beton. With dimensions of 2.2 metres wide, 3.2 metres high, and 6.4 metres long, this fleet is designed to access narrow roads and densely populated areas that cannot be reached by conventional mixer trucks.

In addition to flexible access, the MiniMix service also allows customers to order concrete volumes according to their specific project needs, making it more efficient for communities, contractors, and small to medium-scale property developers.

To expand market penetration, SIG continues to increase the capacity and reach of the MiniMix service. Currently, PT Solusi Bangun Beton operates 42 MiniMix fleets serving Jakarta, Bandung, Cianjur, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and surrounding areas. These operations are supported by 30 batching plants spread across Banten, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.
