SIG Boosts Hundreds of MSMEs, Rembang State-Owned Enterprise House Records Rp6.9 Billion in Transactions
PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) continues to strengthen its contribution to grassroots economic development through the Rembang State-Owned Enterprise House (RB Rembang) programme, which has successfully propelled hundreds of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to the next level. Since commencing operations in 2020, RB Rembang, managed by SIG subsidiary PT Semen Gresik, has mentored 580 MSMEs, achieving cumulative transactions of Rp6.9 billion and absorbing more than 2,100 local workers. This achievement underscores the role of SIG’s Rumah BUMN as a village-based business incubator that not only strengthens the business capacity of MSME players but also drives inclusive and sustainable local economic growth. Through integrated mentoring, RB Rembang assists business owners in improving product quality, expanding market access, and enhancing competitiveness in an increasingly challenging market. SIG Corporate Secretary Vita Mahreyni stated that MSME development is part of the company’s sustainability strategy to create shared value for the community and the environment surrounding the company’s operational areas. “MSMEs play a vital role as drivers of the regional economy and job creation. Therefore, SIG continues to deliver adaptive and sustainable empowerment programmes so that MSMEs can grow more competitively, possess stronger competitiveness, and generate a broader economic impact for the community,” Vita said. RB Rembang has organised 203 training programmes covering product quality development, standardisation, business digitalisation, branding strengthening, and marketing strategies. The mentoring is conducted comprehensively to help MSMEs address market challenges while opening opportunities for penetration into wider markets. One of the mentored MSME players who has felt the impact of the programme is Bella Ayu Paramitha, owner of Batik Sekar Mulyo from Rembang. Thanks to RB Rembang’s mentoring, her business has now grown with a monthly turnover of approximately Rp100 million and is able to employ dozens of workers and hundreds of freelancers from various villages in Rembang Regency. SIG affirmed that RB Rembang functions not only as a training centre but also as a business ecosystem that integrates business coaching, collaboration networks, and digital-based marketing access. This approach aligns with the company’s sustainability commitment to encourage community economic independence while strengthening the regional economic structure based on local potential.
