PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has reported zero fatal workplace accidents across all operating regions throughout 2025, demonstrating its commitment to placing occupational safety and health (K3) as a core company value.

Director of Operations Reni Wulandari emphasised the critical importance of employers’ commitment to creating safe working environments. She noted that national workplace accident figures remain alarmingly high, with the Ministry of Labour reporting 300,000 cases in 2024.

As Indonesia’s leading building materials solutions provider, SIG’s consistent implementation of safety culture has resulted in zero recordable fatalities across all cement manufacturing plants in 2025. This achievement reflects the company’s strong dedication to making occupational safety and health a fundamental value in daily worker activities.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of SIG Group’s 2026 National Safety Month celebration held hybrid from PT Semen Tonasa in Pangkep, South Sulawesi on 13 February, Wulandari stated that the national safety month observance is not merely ceremonial but represents a critical moment for reflection and evaluation of safety culture implementation throughout the organisation.

“National Safety Month also serves as a reminder of SIG’s commitment to placing safety and health as a core value—not only to prevent workplace accidents and occupational diseases, but also to ensure employee and partner comfort whilst working, thereby promoting greater optimisation and productivity,” Wulandari said.

Beyond achieving zero fatality status, SIG in 2025 also recorded a Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.13 against a target of 0.3, and a Lost Time Injury Severity Rate (LTISR) of 1.01 against a target of 5.

The company has further strengthened implementation of various leading indicators including Safety Observation Tour, Corporate Life Saving Rules (CLSR) improvement plans, Visible Safety Leadership (VSL) Ambassador programmes, Comprehensive Safety Management Systems (CSMS), Safety Academy, and emergency response preparedness.

In recognition of these efforts, SIG has received multiple awards including the Zero Accident Award from the Ministry of Labour, the Trophy and Aditama Award for Mining Safety Management from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the ICC-OSH Award.
