Siemens wins Telkom project

FRANKFURT (AFX): Siemens AG said that Siemens Information and
Communication Mobile Group (IC Mobile) has received an order
worth 65 million euros from the Indonesian mobile radio provider
PT Telkom to set up a GSM network in Indonesia and install mobile
transmission and switching technology.

In its first stage, the network will reach 200,000 PT Telkom
customers in Jakarta and Bandung on the island of Java as well as
Lampung on the island of Sumatra by the end of Aug 2001 and by
the end of 2001, it will be available to more than 400,000
customers, it said.
