Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regent Syaharuddin Alrif has officially inaugurated 45 members of the Sidrap Regency Heritage Flag-Raising Squad (Paskibraka) for 2026. The solemn inauguration ceremony was held at the Sidrap Regent’s official residence on Saturday evening (15/8/2026).

The inaugurated Paskibraka members are the finest young men and women selected through a rigorous process from various senior high schools and vocational schools across Sidrap Regency. They are scheduled to carry out their national duty at the 81st anniversary ceremony of the Republic of Indonesia’s independence, to be held at the Sidrap SKPD Complex field on Monday (17/8/2026).

The inauguration procession was marked by the recitation of the Paskibraka pledge, the pinning of badges, and the signing of the inauguration document by Regent Syaharuddin. The event was also attended by members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and senior officials of Sidrap Regency.

In his address, Regent Syaharuddin Alrif expressed high appreciation for the dedication of the members who had undergone a lengthy process, from the selection stage to intensive training that tested them physically and mentally.

“The process is long. Starting from selection, then entering training camp, and tonight after being inaugurated. This certainly becomes an asset for all my children,” said Syaharuddin.

He emphasised that the coaching they received, encompassing national insight, leadership, and problem-solving skills, would form a strong character foundation for their future.

Syaharuddin also reminded all members to carry out the flag-raising and lowering duties with full responsibility. According to him, the moment of 17 August 2026 would become an important historical record in their lives as part of the Sidrap Regency Paskibraka.

In addition to providing motivation regarding their national duties, the Regent also expressed hope that this experience would serve as a stepping stone for the students to achieve their aspirations, whether as entrepreneurs, bureaucrats, military or police officers, or politicians.

“Paskibraka 2026, this is a sign of success for the future of all my children,” he added.

Concluding his remarks, Syaharuddin expressed gratitude to the Sidrap Alumni Paskibraka Association (PPI), trainers from the military and police, the National Unity and Politics Agency (Kesbangpol), and the parents. He also revealed his ambition to improve the quality of the Paskibraka in the coming year.

“God willing, in 2027 I will strive to secure budget support so that the Sidrap Paskibraka can be complete with the 17-8-45 formation,” he concluded.
