The Sidoarjo Regency Government continues to strengthen its emergency 112 Call Centre to provide swift responses for residents. The free-of-charge, 24-hour service enables citizens to report emergencies.

From January to March 2026, the call centre recorded 9,812 answered calls, including 1,033 emergency reports, 1,006 non-emergency reports, and 6,892 prank or ghost calls. Most public reports concerned street lighting (PJU) issues, animal evacuations, damaged roads, medical emergencies, traffic accidents, fires, fallen trees, and other incidents.

The regency government ensures the service operates around the clock to receive all incoming reports. “The 112 Call Centre is staffed 24/7 to ensure residents can access immediate assistance during emergencies or when urgent help is needed,” said Sidoarjo Regency’s Communication and Information Department Head, Eri Sudewo, on Friday (29 May 2026).

Eri explained that each report is promptly forwarded and coordinated with relevant local agencies based on the required response. This aligns with the directives and support from Sidoarjo Regent Subandi. Agencies including the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Fire and Rescue Department, Health Department, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), Municipal Police (Satpol PP), and other technical units work together in coordination to address public reports.

“When reports come in, they are immediately directed to the relevant departments or teams handling them,” he added.

The 112 service provides significant benefits to Sidoarjo residents, particularly during emergencies such as fires, disasters, security threats, and other urgent needs, as evidenced by the high volume of emergency reports submitted through the call centre. With 24/7 availability and cross-departmental coordination, the Sidoarjo Regency Government aims to ensure residents can easily access assistance and receive prompt responses whenever required.
