Sidoarjo Regency Explores MSME Development Cooperation with Banjarmasin City Government

Sidoarjo, East Java (ANTARA) - The Sidoarjo Regency Government is exploring opportunities for cooperation with the Banjarmasin City Government regarding the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“Sidoarjo’s MSMEs possess immense potential and a diverse range of products; therefore, the local government continues to encourage entrepreneurs to scale up and expand their marketing reach,” said the Vice Regent of Sidoarjo, Mimik Idayana, in Sidoarjo on Tuesday.

During an audience led by the Vice Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ananda Krista Algani, Mimik introduced several of Sidoarjo Regency’s potentials, including the development of MSMEs, which are considered one of the community’s economic strengths.

According to her, MSME actors not only play a role in driving the economy but also create employment opportunities and improve community welfare.

Mimik stated that exchanging experiences with other regions is essential to discovering economic development opportunities that can be implemented according to the specific characteristics of each area.

She also invited Ananda and his delegation to visit MSME galleries in Sidoarjo to directly observe flagship products and the coaching programmes provided by the local government.

Mimik hopes that this visit will open opportunities for collaboration, including the exchange of products and experiences between MSME entrepreneurs from both regions.

She noted that the strengthening of MSMEs must be carried out through improvements in product quality, packaging, marketing, and market access, while inter-regional collaboration can expand the marketing networks for local products.

Meanwhile, the Vice Mayor of Banjarmasin, Ananda Krista Algani, expressed hope that the relationship between the two regions could create space for cooperation and the exchange of products and experiences among MSME players.

“We see that Sidoarjo has extraordinary potential, ranging from tourism to MSMEs, and we hope this relationship opens doors for cooperation and the exchange of products and expertise,” said Ananda.
