Sidoarjo Investment Reaches Rp 7.7 Trillion as of Second Quarter 2026
The efforts of the Sidoarjo Regency Government, under the leadership of Regent Subandi and Vice Regent Mimik Idayana, to drive economic growth and create a positive investment climate continue to yield results. As of the second quarter of 2026, investment realisation in Sidoarjo Regency has reached Rp 7.7 trillion, or 49.51 per cent of the annual target of Rp 15.7 trillion.
The Head of the Sidoarjo Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), Benny Airlangga Yogasimwara, stated that this achievement remains in line with the established targets. “The second quarter achievement is still on track with the 2026 strategic plan target of Rp 15.7 trillion. We are optimistic that the Rp 15.7 trillion target can be achieved by the end of 2026,” Benny said on Tuesday (8/9/2026).
Benny noted that several sectors were the largest contributors to investment in the second quarter of 2026. The housing, industrial estate, and office sector ranked highest with an investment value of Rp 1,083,913,033,404. Following this, trade and repairs contributed Rp 577,894,999,711, and the leather goods and footwear industry contributed Rp 496,801,759,363.
Furthermore, investment in the rubber and plastic industry reached Rp 304,482,197,276, while the paper and printing industry amounted to Rp 268,861,778,996. The basic metal industry, metal goods, non-machinery, and equipment reached Rp 226,120,900,218. This was followed by the chemical and pharmaceutical industry at Rp 208,506,749,811, the motor vehicle and other transport equipment industry at Rp 178,998,514,630, the food industry at Rp 158,055,909,093, and other services at Rp 104,267,027,438.
On the other hand, the number of business units in the second quarter of 2026 was recorded at 5,706 units, compared to 5,995 business units during the same period in 2025. However, labour absorption has increased. “Regarding labour absorption, in Q2 2026, 8,485 workers were absorbed, whereas in Q2 2025, there were 4,709 workers,” Benny revealed.
Benny added that in the second quarter of 2026, 1,393 medium and large-scale business actors submitted their Investment Activity Reports (LKPM). “In the second quarter of 2026, 1,393 medium and large business actors submitted their LKPM,” he concluded.
