Sidoarjo Accelerates Digitalisation with Free Internet and Integrated Services
The Sidoarjo Regency Government is accelerating digital transformation to enhance public service accessibility. Under Regent Subandi’s leadership, the initiative includes expanding free Wi-Fi coverage and consolidating government services into a single integrated application.
Currently, 186 Wi-Fi hotspots are operational across public spaces such as town squares, schools, food hubs, and traditional markets. The administration aims to install 1,253 points within five years to support daily activities, including education, SMEs, and public information access.
Additionally, the government plans to unify 114 existing applications into one platform, allowing residents to access services like identity documentation, business permits, and emergency reporting through a single mobile interface. Regent Subandi emphasised that the focus is not just on system development but ensuring services are efficient, accessible, and deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
