PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (Sido Muncul), a herbal and pharmaceutical manufacturing company, distributed aid to 1,000 underprivileged residents. Director Dr. (H.C.) Irwan Hidayat expressed his gratitude at being able to undertake such meaningful activities during Ramadan.

The event was attended by Semarang Regent Ngesti Nugraha at the Sidomuncul Agro-tourism area, Bergas District, Semarang Regency. Hundreds of residents came to the event venue in succession. Following opening ceremonies, Irwan delivered a speech before the underprivileged recipients.

“This is the eleventh time Sido Muncul is providing aid to the underprivileged. A week ago, we did so for orphaned children,” said Irwan on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

Irwan expressed his gratitude for being able to share during Ramadan on behalf of the Sido Muncul family.

“I am deeply grateful that every Ramadan I can do something meaningful. It is not I who represent, but rather the entire Sido Muncul family,” he stated.

Irwan noted that aid should not be judged by the quantity given, but by what is bequeathed or left behind.

“In my view, the best aid is giving despite scarcity. I believe that is far more valuable,” he said.

According to Irwan, companies should distribute assistance to communities in the areas surrounding their operations.

“Companies ought to provide assistance to their surrounding communities. In fact, every company should provide aid in their respective areas,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Ngesti expressed his gratitude to Sido Muncul for the extensive support it has provided to Semarang residents.

“I express my thanks to Mr Irwan Hidayat, who has continuously provided assistance and contributions to Semarang residents,” said Ngesti.

“This includes efforts to address stunting in Semarang Regency. Every year, the company also shares considerable amounts. There is also assistance for orphans and orphaned children. And now, for the underprivileged, 1,000 people are receiving aid,” he added.

He expressed hope that the aid would be beneficial to residents and prayed for Irwan’s good health.

The assistance comprised 1,000 packages of basic foodstuffs and Sido Muncul health products, including sugar, instant noodles, wafers, cooking oil, rice, Kuku Bima Energi C1000, RTD Red Berry, Tolak Angin Balm, and Ginger Milk, with total assistance valued at 200 million rupiah.

The aid was distributed to communities in six villages or administrative divisions surrounding the factory: Bergas Kidul Village, Diwak Village, Ngempon Ward, Karangjati Ward, Muktiharjo Lor Ward, and Klepu Village.

An aid recipient, 80-year-old Ngatmiyati, said she received money and gifts. She was pleased because she currently lives with her child.

“I received money and gifts. I’m pleased to receive the assistance because I now live with my child,” said Ngatmiyati.

She has received assistance from Sido Muncul multiple times previously.

“I’ve received assistance several times, if I’m not mistaken, three to six times,” she noted.
