Sido Muncul Achieves PROPER Gold 2025 and Green Leadership, Proof that Successful Environmental Stewardship Wins Consumer Hearts
PT Industri Jamu Dan Farmasi Sido Muncul Tbk (Sido Muncul) has achieved a milestone in sustainability by receiving the 2025 PROPER Gold award alongside the top Green Leadership recognition from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). This accomplishment reaffirms the company’s dedication to fostering public trust through serious environmental stewardship.
The Minister of Environment and Forestry/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (KLHK/BPLH), Dr. Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, S.Hut., M.P., stated that the central government will now directly oversee, control, enforce laws, and provide technical guidance across all levels of environmental protection and management. This aligns with instructions from President Prabowo Subianto via Presidential Regulation No. 183 of 2024.
Hanif added that the 2025 PROPER programme differs from previous years. Previously, it was managed solely by institutions within the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, but from next year, it will extend to all business operating units in Indonesia, as mandated by Article 70 of Law No. 32 of 2009.
“In 2026, we will attempt to conduct assessments as part of our obligation to the state in supervising all business units across the country,” Hanif said.
Sido Muncul Director, Dr. (H.C.) Irwan Hidayat, stressed that public trust is paramount for the company. This drives the firm to implement various environmental initiatives and empowerment programmes to promote community self-reliance.
“We do this to build trust. This is one way for us to build trust,” Irwan remarked after receiving the 2025 PROPER Gold award at the Sasono Langen Budoyo Building, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta, on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
For Irwan, environmental protection holds equal value to business sustainability. He added that no better method exists to build consumer trust than for businesses to care for the environment.
“I believe there is no better effort to build trust than environmental maintenance. Logically, if we are good to the environment, we should be even better to consumers,” Irwan stated.
