Sidan and Keureuto Dams Inaugurated, Brantas Abipraya Strengthens National Water and Food Security
President Prabowo Subianto simultaneously inaugurated five dams in five provinces. The inauguration was held in person at the Meninting Dam in West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Friday, while the other four were inaugurated in a hybrid format: the Keureuto Dam and Rukoh Dam in Aceh Province, the Jlantah Dam in Central Java Province, and the Sidan Dam in Bali Province.
PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), a state-owned construction enterprise experienced in building strategic national infrastructure, expressed pride over the inauguration of the Sidan Dam in Bali and the Keureuto Dam in North Aceh Regency, both of which it completed. The presence of these two dams underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening food security, water security, and supporting the Asta Cita vision towards a more advanced and sustainable Indonesia.
Brantas Abipraya’s Corporate Secretary, Dian Sovana, stated that dam construction is a long-term investment that directly impacts the improvement of community welfare. ‘The inauguration of the Sidan Dam and the Keureuto Dam is a tangible manifestation of Brantas Abipraya’s contribution to supporting the Government’s Asta Cita, particularly in strengthening food security and national water resource management. This dam infrastructure not only provides water for the agricultural sector but also offers broad benefits to the community through the provision of raw water, flood control, and the stimulation of regional economic growth. We are proud to be part of the development of strategic infrastructure that provides sustainable benefits for future generations,’ said Dian Sovana.
Dian further emphasised that Brantas Abipraya will continue to deliver quality construction works as a form of support for the national development agenda. ‘Brantas Abipraya is committed to continuing to build quality, sustainable infrastructure that provides added value to the community. We believe that infrastructure development is an important foundation for realising a resilient and competitive Indonesia, capable of achieving food self-sufficiency as one of the priorities in the Asta Cita of the President of the Republic of Indonesia,’ she added.
President Prabowo stressed that dam construction is not merely about building infrastructure, but is a long-term investment to guarantee food security and improve community welfare. He therefore reminded all parties to ensure that the benefits of the dams are truly felt by farmers.
