Sickness Remission Under Evaluation; Indra Kenz Could Be Returned to Prison
The convict in the Binomo case, Indra Kesuma, also known as Indra Kenz, is currently undergoing parole after receiving remission due to prolonged illness. The Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) for West Java will evaluate the granting of this remission.
Ishadi Maja Prayitno, Head of Service and Development at the West Java Regional Office of Ditjenpas, stated that the evaluation is being conducted to ensure that the granting of the remission complies with standard operating procedures (SOP).
“Regarding Indra Kenz, who entered prison in 2022 with a 10-year sentence, he received remission rights like any other inmate. The focus of the examination is directed towards the prolonged illness remission to ensure its compliance with the SOP,” said Ishadi, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (30/09/2026).
If the results of the investigation find that the remission was granted in violation of the SOP, the remission may be cancelled. Consequently, Indra Kenz could be returned to a correctional institution.
“The investigation and review process is expected to be completed within a maximum of two weeks, without reducing the remaining period of his primary prison sentence,” he added.
Indra Kenz began his parole on 24 September 202lar after previously serving his sentence at the Class IIA Cibinong Prison in Bogor Regency. While on parole, Indra is required to report to the Bogor Correctional Centre (Bapas) once a month and must undergo guidance and supervision until the end of his parole period.
Indra was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp 5 billion, with a subsidiary sentence of 10 months of imprisonment, for spreading false news and money laundering related to the Binomo platform.
He was found guilty of violating Article 45A paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (1) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions, as well as Article 3 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering.
Prior to serving his sentence at Cibinong Prison, Indra was detained at the Class I Salemba State Detention Centre in Central Jakarta.
