Makassar (ANTARA) – The 2026 Sulawesi Investment and Business Forum (SIBF), facilitated by Bank Indonesia’s South Sulawesi Representative Office, is offering 43 potential projects to domestic and international investors.

“The event strengthens investment promotion and interregional trade through activities taking place in Makassar on 28–29 October 2026,” said Rizki Ernasi Wimanda, head of Bank Indonesia’s South Sulawesi Representative Office, in Makassar on Wednesday (28 October).

Under the theme “Advancing Sulampua’s Potential: From Regional Strengths to Global Value Chains”, the forum is a strategic step towards expanding market access, improving the competitiveness of leading regional products and building broader business networks.

The initiative is intended to bring together government, businesses, investors and trade partners to accelerate investment realisation and expand export opportunities for leading products.

Rizki said the effort would be strengthened through three strategic measures. First, investment project potential and leading small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) would be mapped in a more integrated manner.

Second, collaboration with strategic partners, including financial institutions and financing providers, would be strengthened to support investment project preparation and the development of financing schemes.

Third, promotion and business facilitation would be enhanced through market sounding, business matching and mentoring to encourage investment realisation and trade transactions.

The programme includes promotions for investment projects and leading products, business meetings, four discussion sessions and visits to investment sites.

On the trade side, SME development under SIBF 2026 has generated export commitments worth Rp450 billion through partnerships between 31 SMEs and 44 buyers from 20 countries.

The participating SMEs are from four provinces: South Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and North Maluku.
