SINGAPORE (AFP): Singapore Airlines Cargo Pte. Ltd. on Monday
received its Air Operator Certificate which will allow it to
operate separately from parent company Singapore Airlines (SIA).
"This is in preparation for its operations as a separate all-
cargo airline from July 2001," SIA said in a statement.
The cargo subsidiary is currently operating under SIA's
operator certificate.
The subsidiary is the world's third largest air cargo carrier
based on the number of international freight-ton-kilometers flown
and operates nine Boeing 747-400 freighters with another eight on
firm order.
