SIA boosts flights to Beijing

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) will fly three times daily
between the city-state and Beijing starting June 1, a 50 percent
hike in capacity from the current twice-daily flights, the
national carrier said on Monday.

The boost "provides business and leisure travellers with more
choices of flight times," the SIA statement said.

The third flight will depart Singapore at 1650 hours and
arrive in Beijing's Capital International Airport at 2250 hours
the same night.

On the return, the flight will depart Beijing at 2355 hours
and arrive at Changi Airport at 0650 hours the next morning.

With the launch of the additional frequency to Beijing, SIA
and subsidiary SilkAir will operate 120 flights weekly to
Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Chengdu,
Chongqing, Fuzhou, Kunming and Hong Kong.-- DPA
