Si Pedaw, Dating Scam Fugitive in West Jakarta Arrested by Police
Police have arrested a man identified as DC, alias Pedaw, a fugitive in an alleged dating scam fraud case in the Kalideres area of West Jakarta. Pedaw was apprehended while working at the Cargo Terminal of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
“We successfully secured DC alias Pedaw while he was working at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Cargo Terminal,” said Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Rachmad Wibowo, in a statement on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
Rachmad stated that Pedaw is the main perpetrator who assaulted the victim, identified by the initials RR. The perpetrator also seized the victim’s motorcycle.
“The individual concerned is the main perpetrator who committed assault against the victim and took the victim’s vehicle,” he said.
Investigation results revealed that the victim’s motorcycle was taken by the perpetrator to the Kampung Ambon area in Cengkareng, West Jakarta. The stolen motorcycle was then exchanged for methamphetamine and Rp 500,000 in cash.
The suspect DC alias Pedaw has been named a suspect and detained. He is charged under Article 479 of the Criminal Code.
The arrest was the result of developing a case reported on Tuesday (26/5) concerning a violent theft experienced by the victim. The chronology began when the victim became acquainted with a woman identified by the initials GF on 17 May 2026.
“After establishing communication, the victim was invited to meet and taken to a boarding room in the Puri Garden area, Kalideres, West Jakarta,” said Kalideres Police Chief Kompol Rihold Sihotang in a statement on Tuesday (9/6).
However, upon arriving at the boarding room, GF contacted two male associates identified as F and GC. Shortly after, the two men arrived and committed violence against the victim.
“Once inside the room, the victim was approached by two other perpetrators who then assaulted him and took his motorcycle keys and mobile phone,” he stated.
After seizing the victim’s belongings, the two male perpetrators handed the vehicle keys to GF. The female perpetrator then fled with the victim’s motorcycle.
Upon receiving the report, the Kalideres Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately launched an investigation. Based on CCTV footage from around the location, police were able to identify the whereabouts of GF.
“The investigation led officers to a location in the Pegadungan area, Kalideres. On 26 May 2026, police successfully apprehended GF at a location believed to be the group’s base camp,” said AKP Rachmad Wibowo.
