JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Pramono Anung has reshuffled the ranks of high-ranking primary officials within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government by inaugurating 11 Echelon II officials on Wednesday (15/4/2026). This step is not merely interpreted as filling vacant positions. At the beginning of his leadership term, the reshuffle serves as a signal for accelerating bureaucratic work while also forming part of the evaluation of civil servant (ASN) performance within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Amid emerging crucial issues, from waste management problems at TPST Bantargebang to controversies over the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in public services, this rotation reflects a combination of organisational consolidation and responses to public pressures. Naturally, this aligns with the emphasis on efforts to accelerate the implementation of government programmes. The filling of these strategic positions has followed applicable administrative mechanisms, including recommendations from the National Civil Service Agency (BKN). “We need to clarify to avoid misinterpretation that in this inauguration, there are 11 officials being sworn in,” Pramono stated at City Hall on Wednesday. According to him, the appointments are not being carried out simultaneously but in stages. This approach is taken to prevent short-term vacancies and to maintain work continuity in each regional apparatus. “So that there are no acting heads (PLT) and no positions left vacant for short periods, it is better to do it together,” he said. For Pramono, this rotation and promotion are part of organisational restructuring. This is because he wants to ensure that individuals placed in strategic positions have the capacity to drive more optimal performance.
