Showcasing Seed Innovation and Crop Protection Solutions at PENAS KTNA XVII
Syngenta Indonesia participated in PENAS (Pekan Nasional) KTNA XVII in Limboto, Gorontalo, by introducing seed innovations and cultivation solutions to support farmer productivity and welfare. During the event, the company presented information about its operations and the ‘Petani MAJU’ initiative, while showcasing various technologies including the NK2133 (NK Ningrat) hybrid rice variety and a series of biotech corn under the NK Sakti brand, comprising NK Perkasa Sakti, NK Pendekar Sakti, and NK Sumo Sakti. These corn varieties offer dual benefits of tolerance to glyphosate herbicide and resistance to stem borer pests. Syngenta Indonesia also introduced crop protection solutions such as MIRAVIS Duo®, INCIPIO® 200 SC, and CUPRINOMAT.
To help farmers more easily recognise its innovations, Syngenta Indonesia introduced the ‘Syngenta Heroes’ communication approach. Through six educational characters, product information and cultivation practices are conveyed in a simpler and more engaging manner. The characters include Si Dio representing CUPRINOMAT technology, Tomi representing Topmost 30/300 OD, and Kak Mira representing MIRAVIS Duo®, NK Perkasa Sakti, NK Sumo Sakti, and NK Pendekar Sakti.
Under the theme ‘Growing Together with Progressive Indonesian Farmers’, President Director of Syngenta Indonesia Eryanto explained the Petani MAJU vision and various company initiatives during a training session on the digitalisation of agricultural and fishery business networks. The vision rests on four pillars: Maximize Profitability, Accelerate Innovation, Joint Effort in Sustainability, and United One Team. Eryanto stated that the vision reflects Syngenta Indonesia’s commitment to delivering breakthroughs for farmers through innovation and sustainable approaches. Throughout PENAS KTNA XVII, the company’s booth and technology demonstration plot were visited by hundreds of farmers and members of the public. Syngenta Indonesia also received visits from officials and representatives of various institutions, including central and regional government and agricultural stakeholders. One such visit was from Dony Lumenta, Deputy Regent of Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi, who engaged in discussions about Syngenta’s technology, ranging from seeds to the use of agricultural drones. The company’s participation in the event underscores its support for national priorities in food security and its active role in promoting technology adoption in the agricultural sector and the food self-sufficiency programme.
