Shouts of 'Murderer' Disrupt Indramayu District Court Hearing

Indramayu (Republika.co.id) – Court proceedings for the ongoing murder case involving a five-member family from Paoman Village, Indramayu Regency, resumed at Indramayu District Court on Thursday, 21 May 2026. Similar to previous sessions, disturbances occurred inside the courtroom. Today’s agenda was the defendant Ririn Rifanto’s evidence presentation. Initially, Ririn’s lawyer, Toni RM, intended to present an IT expert witness. However, the IT expert did not attend, citing a medical appointment in Jakarta. Consequently, Toni requested the court to summon the expert for the next hearing. ‘I will present two witnesses: an IT expert and a criminal law expert,’ Toni stated. The court adjourned the session to continue next week to hear the expert testimonies presented by the defendant’s legal team. The brief hearing immediately drew disappointment from the victims’ families and relatives in attendance, who hope for a swift resolution. ‘Murderer, murderer,’ shouted several spectators. Attendees expressed anger towards both defendant Ririn and his lawyer, believing Ririn responsible for the murder of Haji Syahroni and his family.
