Shophouse on Jalan Baru Depok Catches Fire, Three Fire Engines Deployed
A semi-permanent building on Jalan Baru, Kampung Lio, Depok, caught fire. The Fire and Rescue Service (Damkar) is still working to extinguish the blaze.
Depok Damkar received information about the fire via the 112 emergency line on Sunday (14/6/2026) at 17:31 WIB. The fire started in a shophouse (ruko) and spread to semi-permanent buildings.
“(The fire) is on Jalan Baru, parallel to the railway tracks behind the City Hall. Initially, the fire was in a shophouse, but they are all semi-permanent structures, yes, a food stall (was on fire),” said Tessy Haryati, Head of Operational Control at the Depok City Fire and Rescue Department (DPKP), when contacted by reporters on Sunday (14/6).
The cause of the fire is not yet known. Damkar is still working to extinguish the flames.
“It is not yet known (the cause of the fire), because officers are still moving and processing towards the scene. Because access to the source is difficult, we are focusing on handling it first,” she said.
Currently, three fire engines and 12 personnel have been deployed to extinguish the fire.
“For now, the initial response is three units, but I have already requested backup from the Cimanggis Technical Implementation Unit, which is likely already on the move, from the initial posts at Wali, Merdeka, and Mako. Initially there were 12 personnel, but that number may have increased by now,” she said.
She stated there were no casualties in the incident. The extent of the losses is still under investigation.
“There are no victims, losses are still under investigation, because reports from the field indicate a scrapyard also caught fire,” she concluded.
